TERMS & CONDITIONS

SHIPPING

At RuggedMade, we ship your orders via freight carriers to addresses in the lower 48 states and parcel carriers to addresses in all 50 states. We contract with trusted freight carriers to deliver all log splitters, most construction equipment, and other products weighing 150 pounds or over. For smaller products, we use USPS or UPS parcel delivery services. During checkout, you'll see the appropriate shipping options based on the products in your order and the shipping address you provide.

FREE SHIPPING

We provide free shipping for all log splitters, most construction equipment, and other designated products, such as hydraulic cylinders. When you see "FREE SHIPPING DETAILS" on a product page, that product qualifies for a free delivery service. If you add items that are not eligible for free shipping together with free shipping items in your order, you'll see shipping options and related charges for only those items that do not ship for free.

Note that for some delivery locations, freight surcharges may apply. See FREIGHT SURCHARGES below for more details.

All log splitters and most construction equipment ship free via freight delivery.

For all other products that qualify for free shipping, the delivery method is determined by the weight of the products you purchase. They will be shipped free via either UPS Ground or a freight delivery service.

When you provide the delivery state and zip code, we'll show you the delivery method in the shopping cart. Upon fulfilling your order, we may substitute a USPS delivery service for free UPS Ground at no additional cost. Your shipping confirmation email will contain your order's final delivery service details.

FREIGHT: RESIDENTIAL ADDRESSES

For freight deliveries to residential addresses, the driver will use a lift gate to unload the item from the truck. Commonly referred to as "curbside delivery", the item will be placed on the ground at or near the foot (street entrance) of your driveway. Please note that you are responsible for moving the item from the curb to another location on your property, such as a garage or workshop. Freight carriers do not require the driver to enter a driveway or re-position the item to a specific spot. Additional movement of the splitter by the driver will result in an additional charge.

Your location will need to accommodate a tractor-trailer truck up to 53 feet in length. If you are unsure that a large truck can arrive and depart from your location, please give us a call.

For residential freight deliveries, the carrier will call you to schedule a delivery appointment. Deliveries take place during normal business hours and you or someone 18 years or older must be present to inspect and sign for the delivery. On rare occasions, these appointments can be missed, so we strongly advise you to call the carrier to confirm your appointment 24 to 48 hours in advance of your scheduled delivery day.

FREIGHT: BUSINESS ADDRESSES

For freight deliveries to business addresses, the driver will enter the business property, but will not unload the item from the truck. Please note that you (the business) are responsible for removing the item from the end of the truck using your own forklift or pallet jack. The item can be unloaded at a loading dock or other unloading area on the business property.

For business freight deliveries, please note the following:

  • During checkout, you must provide the full business name and shipping address.
  • The freight carrier will not call ahead to confirm the time of delivery.
  • The business name must be clearly posted on a sign at the receiving location. Any gate at the location must be open during normal business hours.
  • The loading dock or unloading area must be unobstructed and accessible by a 53-foot tractor-trailer.
  • The business must be opened during normal business hours and there must be someone available to unload the shipment.
  • There must not be a residential structure on the property.

Note About Farm Locations

Freight carriers do not qualify farms for their business delivery services, even if there is equipment available that can unload the truck. If you wish to ship a product by a freight carrier to a farm, please be aware that a Remote or Out of Area surcharge may apply, depending on where your farm is located. If a Remote or Out of Area surcharge is applicable, we will reach out before shipping.

INSPECTING FREIGHT DELIVERIES

Upon delivery from the freight carrier, you are responsible for inspecting the condition of your shipment when it arrives. Do not sign the delivery receipt from the driver until you have performed this inspection.

If your product arrives with obvious damage, refuse delivery and contact us immediately - do not sign for the delivery. If you suspect concealed damage, notate "Possible Freight Damage" on the delivery receipt while the driver is present. If you then discover later that the product is indeed damaged, this step provides a remedy for a damaged freight claim.

If you did not inspect the shipment before signing for the delivery, open and inspect your shipment as soon as possible. If you discover damage after receiving the shipment, contact us immediately.

Please note that if you see minor damage to the outside packaging, the product inside is typically fine.

FREIGHT SURCHARGES

Freight carriers may impose certain surcharges depending on the delivery location. If a surcharge applies to your order, we will contact you before shipping.

Limited or Obstructed Access Surcharge

Freight carriers will apply a surcharge for locations such as gated businesses, golf courses, schools, gravel pits, construction sites, campgrounds, and apartment complexes. It may still be possible to ship to locations like these for a residential shipping fee, so please call us..

Remote or Out of Area Surcharge

Freight carriers charge additional fees to deliver to remote addresses, such as on islands or in mountainous or desert locations.

Freight carriers also designate certain locations as being outside of contracted service areas. For example, portions of major metropolitan areas, such as Manhattan in New York City, are considered "out-of-area" locations. If you live in a remote area or close to or inside a major city, please contact us for a custom shipping quote. If you place your order before contacting us, we may be required to collect additional fees before shipping your item.

Remote and out-of-area surcharges are determined by the freight carrier based on zip code. Please allow more time for delivery to these locations.

Address Change Surcharge

If you request changes to the delivery address after the item ships, a re-consignment fee will need to be collected to complete your delivery. This fee is typically $50 to $100.

PARCEL SHIPPING

Smaller packages weighing up to 149 pounds ship via UPS or USPS. These orders typically ship the next business day after the order is placed. When determining estimated delivery dates, transit days begin one business day after the package is picked up by the carrier.

UPS Services

We offer the following UPS shipping services:

  • UPS Ground: Transit time is 1 to 5 business days, depending upon the shipping address
  • UPS 2nd Day Air: Transit time is two business days, with delivery typically by end of the day

You can visit UPS.com for more details on these services.

USPS Services

We offer the following USPS shipping services:

  • Priority Mail options
  • USPS Ground Advantage

DELIVERY DATES & APPOINTMENTS

All delivery dates and appointments provided to you by RuggedMade or our contracted freight and parcel carriers are estimates only and are not guaranteed by RuggedMade. Delays may occur in certain situations, including, but not limited to, when shipping to remote destinations, during inclement weather, and around holidays. FORWARDING SERVICES

RETURN POLICY

We retain the exclusive and sole right as to whether an item may be returned, exchanged or order cancelled. RuggedMade thus encourages customers to use caution when placing an order, as once placed the order may not be able to be cancelled, nor the item returned or exchanged. Packages that show a confirmed delivery from the carrier will be subject to investigation and will not be eligible for a refund or replacement until the carrier's investigation is resolved. Should your package not be delivered, please contact us at: support@ruggedmade.com with your order number to start the investigation.

RuggedMade can not accept returns of gas or diesel-powered items once said items have been oiled and/or gassed, included but not limited to hydraulic components. Items that are abused, misused and overloaded are not eligible for return, nor are they covered under warranty.

In order to obtain a refund or exchange, written prior approval must be given by RuggedMade. Please request an RMA number by emailing support@ruggedmade.com.

Shipping charges for most orders are not refundable. Original outbound shipping charges may not be refundable depending on the reason for return. Unless otherwise expressly authorized by RuggedMade, customers are responsible for all return shipping costs.

At RuggedMade's sole discretion, RuggedMade may impose a restocking fee on items returned, including but not limited to any items returned not in brand new, unused and uninstalled condition, in their original packaging with all original parts, accessories, and manuals included.

Refunds may take up to 7-14 business days to process, and the timing of funds returning to the original payment method occurs according to the bank or card issuer's policies.
