RuggedMade Shipping Terms and Conditions

Please make sure you fully understand the terms and conditions that apply to the type of shipping service you select. Additional fees may apply if delivery cannot be completed per these terms.


RuggedMade ships all products weighing more than 150 pounds by common carrier. Freight shipments can take 7 to 10 business days, but may arrive sooner. RuggedMade makes every effort to only work with reliable carriers. Nevertheless, carriers do not guarantee delivery dates. Delays may occur in certain situations, such as when shipping to remote destinations, during inclement weather, and around holidays. Therefore, RuggedMade is not responsible for estimated or scheduled delivery times made by the carrier. RuggedMade is not responsible for lost income, labor costs, equipment rental, or any other costs that may be associated with shipping and receiving your order.


Most of our log splitters and construction equipment ship for free with one of our contracted freight carriers. Free freight service means RuggedMade will ship your item to your home or to an In Area qualified business (see SHIPPING TO A BUSINESS for qualifications) within the U.S. lower 48 states. Remote or Out of Area surcharges may be applied. Additional freight surcharges may apply for a few items that are not stocked in all RuggedMade warehouses. Accessories ordered with your freight item may ship separately. We may charge parcel shipping rates for the accessories, but the freight item ships for free.


When a customer elects to have their order shipped to a business, he or she is still responsible for the unloading process and inspecting for damage.

-You must enter the full business name and address on your order.
-The freight company will not call ahead to confirm time of delivery.
-There must not be a residence or residential structure on the property.
-The business must have a clearly posted sign with the business name, it must be open during normal business hours, and there must be someone available to unload the shipment.
-There must be a loading dock and/or fork lift (a skid steer, e.g., Bobcat with forks, or a tractor with fork extensions is acceptable – a bucket with chains is not acceptable.
-If the property is gated, the gate must be open during normal business hours.
-Loading dock or unloading area must be unobstructed and accessible for a 53 foot tractor trailer.


Destinations such gated businesses, golf courses, schools, gravel pits, construction sites, campgrounds and apartment complexes are considered by the carriers to have limited access. An additional limited access surcharge will apply. It may still be possible to ship to locations like these for a residential shipping fee, so please call us.


Farms are a unique category. Freight companies do not consider farms to be businesses, even if there is equipment available that can unload the truck. If you wish to ship a product by freight carrier to a farm, please select Residential Delivery (Remote or Out of Area surcharges may apply).


Residential freight shipping is free (Remote Area, Out of Area, and Obstructed Access surcharges may apply). Residential delivery includes curbside lift gate service. The carrier will call or send a text message to schedule a delivery appointment. We strongly advise calling the carrier to confirm your appointment 24-48 in advance of your scheduled delivery day. Trucks are loaded very early each morning with the day’s deliveries, so the delivery appointment will be scheduled for the following day at the earliest. “Curbside Delivery” means the driver will place the item(s) at the foot of your driveway. Carrier policy does not require the driver to enter a driveway. The driver is not responsible for re-positioning the item to a specific spot, such as in your garage. You are responsible for getting the item from the curb to another location on your property. The driver is not obligated to assist, but many are kind enough to help.


Freight companies charge additional fees to deliver to certain remote destinations, or your desired delivery location may be outside of our contracted area for free freight and additional freight charges may apply. An example of an Out of Area is inside a major city like Manhattan / Long Island, Los Angeles, Miami, etc. If you live in a Remote Area or inside a major city, please contact us for a custom shipping quote. If you place your order before speaking with us, we may be required to collect additional shipping fees before your item can ship from our warehouse. Certain items may not be available to ship to some areas for free. Delivery to Remote or Out of Area locations may still be possible (limited by carrier) if a surcharge is paid. If you live in a Remote Area that is difficult to access, such as on an island, in the mountains, or desert, please call for a custom shipping quote. Remote and Out of Area surcharges are determined by the carrier based on zip code. Please allow more time for delivery to these locations.


We do not ship via freight outside the lower 48 states. If you would like to pick up your order at a freight terminal or freight forwarding business and make your own arrangements for further shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, or Canada, please call us.


Please inspect your items before you sign the delivery receipt from the carrier. If you do not inspect before signing for the delivery, open and inspect your shipment as soon as you get it home. Do not wait. Do not sign for delivery if products show obvious signs of damage. If your product arrives with obvious damage, REFUSE DELIVERY and contact us immediately. If you discover hidden damage after receiving the shipment, call us immediately. We will process the damage claim. Occasionally, the outer packaging may look damaged, but the product inside is perfectly fine. If you suspect concealed damage, notate "Possible Freight Damage" on the delivery receipt while the driver is present. This way, if you discover later that the product is damaged, there is remedy for a damaged freight claim.


If you request changes to the delivery address after the item ships, a $50 re-consignment fee will apply to your order.


Orders are typically picked up from our warehouse by UPS the next business day after the order was placed. According to the terms of service, which can be found at, the day a package is picked up is not counted as the first business day of transit. Transit days begin the business day after the package was picked up. Typical transit times for orders shipped via UPS are as follows:

-UPS Ground: Usually 1-5 business days with delivery time based on distance to destination
-UPS Three-Day Select: Guaranteed delivery within three business days with delivery by end of day
-UPS Second Day Air: Guaranteed second day delivery with delivery typically by end of day

USPS (United States Postal Service)
Orders are picked up by USPS from our warehouse the next business day after the order was placed. According to the terms of service, which can be found at, the expected delivery date of Priority Mail service is one to three business days. Delivery times are based on origin, destination, and drop-off time.
