How to Adjust Return Detent on Your Log Splitter Valve

How to Adjust Return Detent on Your Log Splitter Valve
November 3, 2022

A valve with an auto return detent provides the convenience of fully retracting the cylinder without having to hold the valve control handle in place. When working correctly, this is a time-saver since the return detent will automatically pop the control handle into the neutral position once the cylinder is fully retracted.

If you find that your valve control handle is sticking too long in the return position or is tripping into neutral too soon, then it might be time to adjust the auto return detent.

In this video, Jared provides step-by-step instructions on how to make the proper adjustments to the detent mechanism.

This video is especially helpful for adjusting several RuggedMade valves, including both the 33-135-VALV-01 with the 1/2" work ports as well as the 33-135-VALV-02 with the 3/4" work ports. It also applies to the Prince LS3000 valve.

A properly adjusted auto return detent not only saves you time but also reduces wear and tear on your log splitter's overall hydraulic system.  So sit back and watch how a pro gets it all done.
