RuggedMade log splitters feature commercial grade design and construction at a price the average homeowner can afford. Precision laser-cut steel; strong, solid welds throughout; and powder coating for long-lasting protection, all mean our wood splitters will stand the test of time. We only use steel reinforced hoses; heavy-duty steel fittings; and steel grade hardware, all utilized to withstand the high pressures, force and power our splitters provide. We stand behind our product 100%, because we know we have engineered a firewood splitter that you can rely on, cord after cord, season after season.
The RS-528 is a tip-up design; the blade pushes against a foot plate that is welded to the end of the beam. The welded 4.5 x 24 cylinder's 2.25-inch rod has a solid steel blade (wedge) attachment with removable 4-way blades, that pushes logs against a foot plate that is welded to the end of the beam. The solid steel i-beam frame easily tilts from horizontal to vertical position to split large and heavy logs on the ground. The folding support legs lock into position and out of the way.
After many years in the business listening to our customers and conducting extensive testing, we have created the most convenient wood splitters available. No more leaning over to work - the waist height beam takes all the strain out of your back. The optional work table is covered with a solid sheet of steel to slide partial rounds off to the side while you split. There is no need to straddle the wheel and tank to reach the single-spool valve with auto-return detent, which is located up high on top of the cylinder and protected by a sturdy solid steel log knock-off (log stripper).
The huge 2.5-inch rod makes for a rapid return stroke, reducing overall cycle time. Big, free-flowing 3/4 inch ports on the cylinder connected by 3/4 inch hoses to 3/4 inch ports on the valves mean there are no bottlenecks in the hydraulic system.
The splitter is powered by a tough 212cc pull or electric start Raven engine, or choose the Honda-powered 187cc GC190 engine, both mated to a heavy-duty 13GPM 2-stage pump. If you want power and speed, choose the Raven 310cc pull or electric start engine, mated to a 16GPM 2-stage pump.
Splits logs up to 24 inches in diameter. 4-way blades should be removed when splitting logs with knots, unseasoned hardwoods, and when splitting logs that do not have straight grain. This splitter is so powerful that attempting to split oversize logs, unseasoned hardwood, and logs with large knots with the 4-way blades may damage splitter.
